SWISH

Overview
  • SWISH is part of the TIME-OUT 2.0 program developed in partnership with selected leading partner federations with expertise in sport policy and other key partners among various international sports organizations such as the IOC, UEFA and the European Commission.

The general objective of this action is to give the opportunity to the members of staff of the national federations to improve their competencies and qualifications in the field of integrity in sport and integrity in basketball. They acquire new skills through learning mobility by participating in two two-day webinars and a three-day in-person workshop. Each participant must complete and present a special project on sport integrity for their national federation and present it to the SWISH Panel. All participants will visit the FIBA House of Basketball and attend final sessions prior to graduation.

Learning mobility should be seen as an investment in human capital and a contribution to the capacity building of various sports organizations.

The Sport Policy SWISH program covers the following key topics:

    - What is sports policy and why it is important?
    - FIBA Integrity code and compensation players
    - Integrity in sport and the role of the IOC
    - Match fixing and prevention
    - Betting in Sport
    - FIBA Anti-Doping Programme and the New WADA code
    - Duty of care for players

Participants work towards a SPOC qualification.

Each national federation will have the opportunity to nominate one candidate for the Sport Policy SWISH program. All participants must have good command of written and oral English language in order to follow the course successfully.
