Brazil to host FIBA AmeriCup 2022

The FIBA AmeriCup is the most prestigious competition for senior men's basketball in the Americas, and from September 2-11, 2022, the FIBA AmeriCup will tip-off its 19th edition. The tournament returns to Brazil for the first time since 1984, when it was held in Sao Paulo and the FIBA Hall of Famer, Oscar Schmidt led the hosts to gold.

The flagship basketball competition of the Americas is set to take place in Brazil, the largest country in South America. At 8.5 million square kilometers (3.2 million square miles) and with over 211 million people, Brazil is the world's fifth-largest country by area and the sixth most populous.
