Regional Offices' Sport & Competitions personnel trained on FIBA's new management tool

MIES - FIBA's Information Technology (IT) and Sport & Competitions Departments held a workshop to train Sport & Competitions personnel from the Regional Offices on the FIBA Management & Administration Platform (FIBA MAP).

The FIBA MAP version 0.1 release, with functionalities on players eligibility and licensing management processes with national federations, is set to go live for FIBA users in June. It will subsequently be made available to national federations users.

FIBA MAP replaces the FIBA New Applications (FNA), the information system used since 2000 in the management of competitions, players and eligibility.

The FNA was technologically outdated and no longer able to support new requirements.

FIBA MAP has been devised in order to be fully compliant with FIBA's New Competition System which comes into effect in November.
