"On behalf of the Basketball Association of Singapore, I would like to thank FIBA Regional Office - Asia for going the extra mile to put in the effort in improving the game officiating capability of our Singapore referees," stated the amiable executive.

"The FIBA Asia Referee Workshop was part of the collective effort to help groom more talented referee within Singapore and South-East Asia," he added. "This workshop will give the referees more opportunity to gain insights of why certain rules were set this way."

BAS Head of Technical Committee Leong Cheun Wing was as thankful for the experience. "I am thrilled with the success of this workshop. Over three days, our local referees received crucial training and guidance that enhanced their understanding of the latest rules and techniques."

The other referees workshop was organized in Thailand last April 23-25 in a collaborative effort with the Basketball Sport Association of Thailand (BSAT).  A total of 36 male and female participants actively took part in the three-day session.

"On behalf of BSAT, I would like to thank BSAT President Mr. Nipondh Chawalitmontien for approving the organization of this workshop to develop our referees and update their knowledge," said Narin Sangsrijun, BSAT Technical Chairman.

"The experience and knowledge from this workshop will only help referees become better in accordance to international standards," he added.
