MIES (Switzerland) - Almost 900 photos from over 300 photographers were sent in to the FIBA Photo Contest between Febuary 3rd and June 30th.

This year's theme 'Women in Basketball' inspired photographers and amateurs alike. The photos showcased, athletes, players, referees, fans, coaches all types of women and girls involved in basketball.

Photographers from 56 different countries participated, a testimony of the love of basketball's universality.

6 Jury members including 4 professional photographers have elected the finalists for the contest. Find the gallery with the 40 finalists here.

The winners of the contest will be announced on 14 August.
