International Basketball Foundation’s Youth Tournament: teams confirmed for 3x3 Hoops Final in Castries

CASTRIES - Organized by the International Basketball Foundation, the Lesser Antilles Youth Tournament "3x3 Hoops" is set to take place in only a few days on 25-26 February in St. Lucia.

76 youngsters between the age of 15 and 17 are making the trip to Castries City today. The tournament will take place at the Vigie Multi Purpose Sports Complex.

Over the course of three days, they will play basketball and participate in a youth leadership programme to gain helpful knowledge for them and their community.

In the U18 Women's category, seven teams will be competing in one pool (A). Each team plays the other 6 teams and the top four teams qualify for the semi-final. The winners qualify for the final.

The U18 Men's category is divided into two pools (A and B) of five and six teams based on their 3x3 Federation Ranking. Each team plays the other teams in their respective pools. The top two teams from each pool qualify for the semi-final. The winners compete in the final. There will be no classification games.

On top of the games, three different contests will be organised. One player from each team will be able to battle it out in a shoot-out contest, a dunk contest for the men and a skills contest for the women.
