Siutat heads French Federation's visit of House of Basketball

MIES - FIBA Central Board Member and President of the French Basketball Federation (FFBB) Jean-Pierre Siutat paid a visit to the House of Basketball on Monday.

He was joined by the FFBB's Marketing Director, Raymond Bauriaud, and the Director of EuroBasket 2015, Nadine Paris, as the trio spend the day at FIBA's headquarters, meeting with FIBA Secretary General and International Olympic Committee (IOC) Member Patrick Baumann and a number of FIBA officials.

"The House of Basketball is a wonderful building and it serves as a very good promotion for world basketball and for our sport," Siutat said.

"I've been here before as a member of the Central Board. It's always nice to come here for any occasion. I enjoy getting to work together and face-to-face with the people here."

Looking ahead to this summer when France will be one of the four countries - along with Croatia, Germany and Latvia - hosting EuroBasket 2015 (5-20 September), Siutat indicated that everything is going according to plan.

"The preparations for EuroBasket 2015 are going very well," he enthused.

"We are selling tickets at a good pace. We haven't put all of them on sale just yet because we want to save some of the best for last.

"The excitement has been building in the country ahead of the tournament."

Siutat also had good news to share with fans of Les Bleus, as he confirmed that the reigning European champions will be able to count on three of their most important players as they look to defend their continental title and qualify for the 2016 Rio Olympics.

"I've been to the US and met with Tony [Parker], Boris [Diaw] and Nicolas [Batum]. They're all on board and exicted for it [EuroBasket 2015] to start. They're very motivated," he said.
