FIBA Open launches registration for the 2023 edition

MIES (Switzerland) - The 9th edition of the FIBA Open will take place on 17 and 18 June 2023 and is shaping up to be tremendous!

The biggest 3x3 tournament in Switzerland, which gathered close to 1,200 players and 4,000 visitors in 2022, will come back on 17 and 18 June 2023 at the Patrick Baumann House of Basketball in Mies, Switzerland.

Established as a way of opening the doors of the FIBA World Headquarters to the surrounding communities, the FIBA Open also aims to be inclusive to all, allowing athletes of all ages and capabilities to play.

Besides celebrating the beautiful game of basketball, the 2023 edition is also the opportunity to celebrate the 10 years of the Patrick Baumann House of Basketball. The museum, food, and music will greet you in a festive atmosphere!

Everyone will find their place within the 18 different categories going from U10 to over 40 years old and passing through Wheelchair and Special Olympics.

The FIBA Foundation’s goal in organizing the event is to be inclusive to all, aligning with its mission to use Basketball For Good. In order to do so, a record number of 18 different categories will allow athletes of all ages and capabilities to play.

Additionally, we are continuing to provide the highly popular Family and Corporate categories, which allows anyone to play together regardless of age or gender, and Mini Basketball initiations for children from 4 to 8 years old allowing them to discover the game through fun activities.

For those who want to see the best 3x3 players in Switzerland, the Elite Women and the 3x3 Swiss Tour will also stop by for the most competitive 3x3 competitions in Switzerland.

Despite being the 7th largest 3x3 basketball tournament in the world, the FIBA Open is first and foremost a fundraising event. All proceeds will once again be donated to the FIBA Foundation’s Basketball For Good projects.

Come and join us at the FIBA World Headquarters whether it is to compete on the court, learn about the history of basketball, volunteer or just enjoy the atmosphere!
