FIBA 360 Basketball program rolled out in Senegal

DAKAR – A FIBA Africa delegation led by Jean Michel Ramaroson and members of the Senegalese Basketball Federation (FSBB) board met last month in Dakar to roll out the  "FIBA 360 Basketball program", a FIBA members national federation development program which includes 11 countries in Africa.

During the two-day meeting (May 23-24) officials aimed to discuss a number of topics ahead of the  FIBA Development program and Outreach of the game, including the possible immediate implementation of actions this year.

The second phase of the programme will focus on the Strategic Planning for National Federations as of 2019, and the targeted development of activities (Governance - Management-Finance & Administration - Technical - Marketing & Communication - Competitions) until 2023, closing year of the next FIBA Basketball World Cup cycle.


Dakar Arena in Senegal

The FIBA Africa delegation visited the Senegalese Minister of Sports, Mr. Matar Ba, to discuss the capital role of the government in supporting the growth of basketball in Senegal, and was informed that the Dakar Arena is expected to be completed by August 2018.
