FIBA - Partnership with FIBA lands SportingPulse on shortlist for Sports Technology Award

MELBOURNE - SportingPulse International has been shortlisted as a finalist in the inaugural Sports Technology Awards in the Best Technology Partnership category.

The finalists were announced by the awards organiser, R3 Events and ENS Ltd, on Monday in London. The SportingPulse entry was for their partnership with FIBA which began in 2005.

Nick Maywald, SportingPulse International Founder and CEO said: "Our technology partnership with FIBA helps make the lives of basketball administrators easier and also results in basketball fans and players having a rich, engaging experience especially around FIBA Live Stats. We are delighted to have been shortlisted as a finalist. This recognises both the uniqueness and the success of our partnership."

Patrick Baumann, FIBA Secretary General and Member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) paid tribute to SportingPulse: "The partnership between FIBA and SportingPulse has allowed us to bring best practice technology tools to our member basketball federations helping them manage registration, membership, competitions, websites and live-scoring. This nomination recognises the value our partnership has brought to basketball around the world."

The winners of each award category will be announced at the lunchtime Awards Ceremony to be held at The Brewery, London on Friday 4 April.

SportingPulse International has developed a suite of integrated technology solutions to power basketball, making it easier for national federations, professional leagues and amateur associations around the world to manage membership, competitions, communication and live scoring.

Since 2005, SportingPulse have worked with FIBA, the world governing body for basketball, providing more that 80 FIBA member federations with the tools they need to manage basketball.

FIBA Live Stats was first launched in 2008 and allows basketball administrators to record basketball game statistics and webcast matches in real time. The webcast experience has been optimised so that fans can follow games on their preferred mobile device and is available in 25 different languages.
