NGR - kada, Nets pick away wins, Union Bank in first lose

ASABA (DStv PBL) - For the third time in as many weeks, Delta Force basketball club failed to honour its league game in the Atlantic conference of the DStv Premier Basketball League fueling speculation that the Asaba-based side might miss out of action at the nation flagship league come next season.

The Coach Emmanuel Olowu tutored side missed its road games to Lagos three weeks back and was promptly walked-over by Comets and Islanders basketball club, the club also failed to show up at it home court against Union Bank basketball club of Lagos when the latter came calling on Wednesday.

Atlantic conference League board coordinator, Agboola Pinheiro says the body will write the management of the club with a view to finding lasting solution to the club problem.

With the walk-over over Delta Force in Asaba, Union Bank thus make it a 1-1 record on the road after losing to Royal Hoopers basketball club of Port Harcourt Tuesday at the Civic Centre.

In the Savannah conference Kada Stars basketball club of Kaduna and Bauchi Nets basketball club recorded away wins in the league.

Kada Stars basketball club defeated relegation threaten Tapgun Rockets basketball club of Jos by 80-48 points while Bauchi Nets basketball club intensify its search for a final-8 playoffs with a 65-62 points victory over Nigeria Immigration basketball club in Kano.

Two more week-9 games were decided Thursday with defending champion, Kano Pillars basketball club and Niger Potters basketball club of Minna picking valuable away wins.

Pillars who travelled to Bauchi conquered it host, Yelwa Hawks basketball club in front of it home fans by 89-68 points to remain the only team in 2010/2011 DStv Premier Basketball League season to keep a clean slate.

Potters on the other hand defeated Plateau Peaks basketball club of Jos on its new home court in Abuja by 82-69 points to step up its final-8 playoffs placement.
