USA - Krstic steers Nets to victory

NEW YORK (NBA) - Nenad Krstic collected 20 points and 11 rebounds as the New Jersey Nets quickly got back to winning ways with a 95-83 win over the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Nets had their franchise record-tying winning streak snapped at 14 by Cleveland on Saturday, but rebounded in impressive fashion against the Bucks.

They rebounded both figuratively and literally - out-boarding the Bucks 56-39.

Krstic, likely to feature at the FIBA World Championship for Serbia & Montenegro, scored 14 of his 20 points in the first half as the Nets established a 49-42 lead by the interval.

He was just one of the stand-out players for the Nets as Vince Carter poured in 25 points and Jason Kidd recorded his eighth triple-double of the season, collecting 11 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists.

His last assist came with an alley-oop pass to Carter for the final points of the game.

TJ Ford led the scoring for the Bucks with 19 points off the bench.

France international Tony Parker scored 19 points including a clutch jumper to win it as the San Antonio Spurs edged out the Memphis Grizzlies 83-81.

Tim Duncan led the way for San Antonio with 23 points and 12 rebounds as the All-Star begins to show play-off form just at the right time.

Duncan also made a key defensive play to preserve the win, denying Spain international Pau Gasol's driving layup attempt as time expired.

Gasol, scored 14 points - just two in the fourth quarter - for the Grizzlies, who led by as many as nine in the first half and held a 65-63 advantage entering the final period.

Greece's Jake Tsakalidis led the scoring for the Grizzlies with 15 while Mike Miller added 14.

The Phoenix Suns wasted a big night from French swingman Boris Diaw as they lost a tight one, 116-114 to the Seattle SuperSonics.

Diaw had 22 points and 12 rebounds but was denied on a drive to the basket in the final seconds as Seattle extended their winning streak to a season-high four games.

Ray Allen led the charge, scoring 23 of his 30 points in the second half.

That helped Seattle claw their way back from a deficit which still stood at 107-99 with 6:01 left.

Chris Wilcox then scored from the lane and Allen buried a three-pointer to spark a 17-7 surge to close the contest.

Wilcox had 23 points and 12 rebounds and Rashard Lewis scored 21 points for the Sonics.

Raja Bell scored 23 points and Shawn Marion scored 22 for Phoenix, who remain on course for a second straight Pacific Division title despite the loss.

Slovenia's Primoz Brezec had a big hand in a 94-88 win for the Charlotte Bobcats at the home of the Toronto Raptors.

The 7ft 1in center scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the win, which was delivered after Brevin Knight scored six of his 19 points in the final minute.

Knight added 10 assists, while Jumaine Jones collected 17 points and 11 rebounds and Gerald Wallace had 11 points and 14 rebounds.

Mike James recorded 32 points and 10 assists for the Raptors, who were outrebounded, 44-35, en rout to suffering their fifth straight home loss.

Dwight Howard scored eight of his 16 points in the fourth quarter as the Orlando Magic extended their late-season surge with a 93-84 victory over the Miami Heat.

Wade scored 27 points and Shaquille O'Neal added 16 for the Heat.

Turkey's Hedo Turkoglu had 14 points and Serbia & Montenegro's Darko Milicic four points off the bench for Orlando.

Kobe Bryant led the Lakers to a 100-83 victory over the Clippers in the battle of Los Angeles.

The Team USA international scored 17 of his 38 points in the final quarter as the Lakers pulled away decisively.

Former Clipper Lamar Odom contributed 23 points and 15 rebounds for the Lakers.

Elton Brand, who will join Bryant and Odom at this summer's Team USA training camp before the FIBA World Championship, had 24 points and 10 rebounds for the Clippers.

Bench players Lindsey Hunter, Tony Delk and Antonio McDyess each scored in double figures and Ben Wallace grabbed a season-high 22 rebounds as the
Detroit Pistons cruised to a 98-73 victory over the Indiana Pacers.

Tayshaun Prince led the Pistons with 17 points - all of them coming in the second half. Delk finished with 11 points and McDyess added 10.

Stephen Jackson led the Pacers with 15 points, but made just four of 12 shots.
