NGR - RadaarHoops top-50 camp begins

LAGOS (RadaarHoops Top-50 Camp) - The 2008 edition of the RadarHoop Top-50 Camp organised by Masai Ujuri and Godwin Owinje will begin today through Tuesday at the sports hall of the Lagos National Stadium with players drawn from across the country.

The 50 young players assembled from across Nigeria will work with about 8 foreign coaches from the United States and Europe who will work along side their 12 Nigerian counterparts. The camp run by the former Nigerian internationals is holding in the fourth year.

“This year we expect the camp to be more exciting as the programme has not only come of age but one of our sponsors Nestle Milo will be celebrating their 10th anniversary for the secondary schools competition. And so we sincerely hope that things will work out well for the kids and all of us involved with the camp. As a body of talent, we expect players, as demonstrated in the past to be quite eager to play and compete, and ready to learn,” Masai said.

The first day of the camp will start with an evaluation process, and then players will be put into teams by the coordinator. These teams will spend the remaining part of the day and the following two days working together in games and stations.

The third-day of the camp will highlight an all-star game between the Top-10 players of the camp and the Basketball Without Borders (BWB) players. The BWB Players were in South Africa last month and were adjudged by the camp experts to have done excellently well in the programme organised by the American NBA and FIBA.
