NGR - Its Tunisia, Mali for finals

TUNIS (FIBA Africa Championship for U18 Women) - Curtain will fall on the 10th edition of the FIBA Africa Championship for U18 Women today in Tunis, Tunisia as defending champion, Mali and host Tunisia battle for the coveted trophy.

Mali who has shown promises that she is capable of ruling the continent again rode rough shod over hapless Mozambique in the second semi-finals on Saturday by 62-28 points while Tunisia manage a one point win over Nigeria in the first semi-finals winning the charged match by 65-64 points.

The young Malian ladies who have promised to follow in the foot-step of their senior national team who won the senior title last year beating host Senegal in the final have asked Tunisia to forget any ambition of winning the African title on home soil.

Before the grand finale between Mali and Tunisia semi-finals losers, Nigeria and Mozambique will take to the floor for the third place game.

2006 runner-up Cote d’Ivoire will battle Guinea in the fifth and sixth position classification game while Kenya and Benin Republic will slug it out for the seventh and eighth position classification match.
