The History of the FIBA Basketball World Cup | Part 2

MIES (Switzerland) – To coincide with the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 commencing on August 31 in China, FIBA is releasing a four-episode documentary this month on the history of the FIBA Basketball World Cup.  

This documentary looks back over the history of FIBA’s flagship event and the players, games and tournaments that have shaped it into the spectacle it is today. It covers 69 years and 17 tournaments and includes some of the biggest legends of the FIBA Basketball World Cup.

The documentary will be released as a four-episode series and will be available on FIBA Basketball World Cup FacebookYouTube and Instagram TV channels. Episode 2 is now available and takes a closer look at the first 5 FIBA Basketball World Cups which took place in South America and the fierce rivalry between Yugoslavia and the USSR. 

 
If you missed Episode 1 it is available here.  The remaining two episodes will be released on August 23 and 30.  

The documentary will also be available on LiveBasketball.TV and with select local broadcasters and has been commissioned by FIBA Media on behalf of FIBA.
