National Federations offered even more with evolution of FIBA PLUS program

MIES (Switzerland) - National Federations are now able to reap even more benefits of an enhanced FIBA PLUS initiative which remains at the heart of FIBA's vitally important global development program.

FIBA PLUS is fundamental to delivering FIBA's Strategic Objective to 'Empower National Federations' which was approved by the Central Board and the FIBA Congress in 2019, prior to being extended in 2023 for a further four years.

With a superb track record of success in supporting almost 100 National Federations since its inception, this latest evolution has seen FIBA PLUS benefit from significant investment and re-shaped focus using feedback from both facilitators and users.

In a bid to serve National Federations in the best possible way and to continue accelerating the growth of basketball globally, FIBA PLUS now delivers planning and implementation support to all members. Planning support is offered via Strategic Planning Support, Operational Planning Support and Project Planning Support.

FIBA's specialists and experts in each area tailor their support to the specific requirements of participating National Federations wherever possible, which maximizes the chances of attaining successful results. Resources are made available in various ways, including digitally, in-person via workshops, and using hybrid models.

In terms of a strong emphasis on Project Planning Support, workshops are already underway in the areas of grassroots and 3x3 projects.

Meanwhile, the implementation element of the support around activity delivery includes a particular focus on things such as WABC Coaching courses, basketball equipment, statutes review, or Leagues and Clubs development.

All FIBA PLUS programs are coordinated between FIBA's Headquarters and Regional Offices, with more National Federations now being encouraged to reach out for assistance under the rejuvenated FIBA PLUS program.
