USA - Men's senior team to train in Las Vegas

COLORADO SPRINGS (FIBA World Championship) - The USA Basketball Men's Senior National Team will train in Las Vegas in preparation for the 2006 FIBA World Championship that will be held Aug. 19-Sept. 3 in Japan.

"The long and healthy basketball rivalry between the USA and Puerto Rico will be showcased at this event," said Colangelo.

"Both national teams are among the very best in the world, so I am sure this will be a game that basketball fans in Las Vegas and the surrounding areas won't want to miss."

"We are proud to be part of the USA Basketball Men's Senior National Team training and exhibition game against the Puerto Rico National Team," said Pat Christenson, president of Las Vegas Events. "The State Farm USA Basketball Challenge is certain to be one of the highlight events in Las Vegas over the next three summers."

As part of the agreement, State Farm, the official insurance company of USA Basketball, becomes title partner for the USA Men's Senior National Team's exhibition game in Las Vegas over the next three summers. Additionally, State Farm will be the presenting partner for the first-ever USA Basketball interactive fan tour, titled USA Basketball Red, White and Hoops Tour presented by State Farm.
