We knew 3x3 was a fast-paced game but Team USA’s men pushed the fast forward button as they routed Guatemala 22-1… in just three minutes. Their first match of the day had not been much longer as they axed Czech Republic 21-3.

Cliff Alexander was once again the story on Friday, throwing down eight dunks in two games, and only trailing Canada’s Tyrell Bellot-Green in the scoring charts for the day (23 vs 24 pts).

The number of undefeated teams in the men’s tournament dropped from 6 to 4 with Poland and the Philippines losing their first matches.

Puerto Rico still reigns supreme in Pool A after two more convincing wins, including a 15-8 landslide against a tough Russian team.

Argentina continued to shine in Pool C, spearheaded by 2013 Nike Hoop Summit participant Gabriel Deck, who had 16 pts on Friday.

Last but not least, playmaker Andreas Obst scored 19 pts on Day 2 to help preserve Germany’s immaculate record in Pool D.

Friday’s highlight was definitely the start of the women’s tournament with Team USA recording two resounding 21-2 wins versus Guam and Puerto Rico before escaping a near-upset against China (19-16).

Marie-Michelle Milapie was the top scorer on Friday with 25 pts and led France to a perfect day in Pool D (3-0).

Belgium, Canada, England, Estonia, Lithuania and Ukraine had a similar dream start in the competition.

Each team – men and women – will play their last two pool games on Saturday from 16:00 to 20:40 local time. The top four teams from each pool make it to the next round.

There will be plenty of highlights available on our livestream with two more chances for Indonesia to pay tribute to their numerous fans and win their first match at 16:00 against Estonia and 18:40 versus Latvia, two more appearances of Cliff Alexander and Team USA against Chinese Taipei at 16:20 and the Philippines at 19:00. Last but not least, the rematch of last year’s women’s final between Spain and the USA is scheduled for 19:40.

The last 16 round will start in the evening, from 21:10 to 22:30.
