TURKEY BOUND - Pau, Kobe fire Lakers to win; Hawks beat Bucks

LOS ANGELES (2010 FIBA World Championship) - Pau Gasol will be one of the main attractions if he plays at the FIBA World Championship for 2006 gold-medal winners Spain.

Right now, he's focused on helping the Los Angeles Lakers win a second straight NBA crown.

Gasol had 25 points and 12 rebounds and also swatted five shots to help LA win Game 1 of their Western Conference semi-final showdown against Utah at the Staples Center.

LA, who were pushed hard by Oklahoma City in their first-round match-up, prevailed 104-99 with Kobe Bryant of Team USA pouring in a game-high 31 points.

Utah, without Turkey center Mehmet Okur for the remainder of the play-offs because of injury, got 24 points from point guard Deron Williams while his fellow USA international Carlos Boozer had 18 points and 12 boards.

The Atlanta Hawks needed seven games but advanced to the Eastern Conference semi-finals with a 95-74 demolition of Milwaukee on Sunday.

The Bucks, showing great fight without their injured Australian center Andrew Bogut, got 13 points and 11 rebounds from their Turkey international Ersan Ilyasova.

Ilyasova will now turn his attention to the national team and the FIBA World Championship that will be staged in his country.

Carlos Delfino of Argentina had some good games in the post-season but he scored just three points on one of eight shooting in Game 7.

Jamal Crawford, the winner of the NBA's Sixth Man Award, led Atlanta with 22 points.

LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers, meanwhile, has been voted as the NBA's MVP for the second year in a row.

James and the Cavs are taking on Boston and lead that series 1-0.
