NBA - Unanimous choice James leads the way in All-NBA first team

NEW YORK (NBA) - LeBron James and the Miami Heat have overcome their early-season struggles to book a spot in the Eastern Conference Finals. Now 'The King' has reconfirmed his status as one of the game's best players as the only unanimous choice for the All-NBA first team.

James has been joined on the first team by Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls, Orlando's Dwight Howard, Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant and Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant.

Rose was this season's league MVP while Howard was the Defensive Player of the Year for the third straight time.

All five have something in common.

They have worn the Team USA shirt and won Olympic or FIBA World Championship gold medals.

Last summer, Rose and Durant were in the American side that captured the world title in Turkey and the latter was named MVP of the event.

James' Heat and Rose's Bulls will now square off with a spot in the NBA Finals at stake while Durant will be hoping to lead Oklahoma City past Memphis in their Western Conference last four showdown.

The Thunder lead that series, 3-2.

Dwyane Wade (Miami), Russell Westbrook (Oklahoma City), Pau Gasol (LA Lakers), Dirk Nowitzki (Dallas) and Amar'e Stoudemire (New York) are All-NBA second team selections while Manu Ginobili (San Antonio), Chris Paul (New Orleans), LaMarcus Aldridge (Portland), Zach Randolph (Memphis) and Al Horford (Atlanta) are on the All-NBA third team.
