LTU/USA – Eidson named MVP of Eurocup

VILNIUS (Eurocup) - America guard Chuck Eidson of Lietuvos Rytas has been honored as the Eurocup MVP.

Eidson helped fire Lietuvos Rytas into the Final Eight of the Eurocup which will be played in Turin, Italy, this weekend.

The 28-year-old South Carolina native, who stands 6ft 7in, showed his versatility in the Last 16 by playing as the team’s primary ball-handler and ended the season with an index rating of 21.9 per game.

Eidson, the seventh-leading scorer in the Eurocup (15.88 points per game) ranked in the top 10 in several other categories. He was second in steals with an average of two per game.

He averaged 17 points, 5.7 rebounds and 6.3 assists in the Last 16.

Eidson, who played his college basketball at the University of South Carolina, will be on show when Lietuvos Rytas take on Benetton Treviso on April 2 in one of the Eurocup Quarter-Finals.

Thursday’s other game sees David Blatt’s Dynamo Moscow go up against Hemofarm Stada.

On Friday, Pamesa Valencia take on Sergio Scariolo’s BC Khimki and iurbentia Bilbao square off against Zadar.
