LIB – Fadi-led Champville back in lead in Final Four

BEIRUT (FLB Divn. A League) - Lebanese Super Cup winners Champville rode talismanic Fadi El Khatib’s game-high 36 points to prevail 93-79 in Game 3 of their Lebanese Division A League Final Four series against Moutahed on Tuesday.

Champville now lead their best-of-five series 2-1 with Game 4 scheduled for Saturday.

Six-time defending champions Al Riyadi Beirut await in the championship series after sweeping their Final Four series against Sagesse 3-0.

Champville won Game 1 before Moutahed bounced back and tied the series by taking Game 2.

It was El Khatib's 11th game of 30 or more point game in 26 appearances for Champville this season. He shot 14 of 26 from the field and also grabbed nine rebounds.

Ghassan Sarkis’ team took charge early and controlled the proceedings throughout.

Import Lee Benson pulled down a staggering 26 rebounds to go with his 23 points as fellow American Tyrone Anderson had 19 points.

Austin Johnson, who starred in Moutahed’s Game 2 win with a 33-point outing, scored as many points but this time in a losing cause.

Micha Brand had 14 points and 12 rebounds and Mohamed Fahes added 11.
