FRA - It’s win or bust

KRAKOW (EuroLeague Women) - There´s a sense of urgency in the squad of France’s most famous club side, Bourges.

The Tango are the only French side alive in the EuroLeague Women play-offs.

The last thing the movers and shakers in the sport want in France in the year the country is hosting the EuroBasket Women is for its most famous team to come up short of the EuroLeague Women Final Eight.

Bourges have won the competition three times in their history, and the European Cup Liliana Ronchetti back in 1995.

They have their backs to the wall, though, after falling at home 57-54 to Wisla Can-Pack Krakow in Game One of the best-of-three showdown earlier this week.

Wisla's USA international Tina Charles, the top player in the competition in 2012-13, had 24 points and 11 rebounds.

Bourges must win in Krakow on Friday evening or they are out of the tournament.

Emmeline N'dongue, the France national team power forward, had 11 points and 14 rebounds in the defeat.

She says people shouldn't be focusing on her showdown with Charles.

"My duel with Tina Charles is nothing compared to the loss of the game," she said.

"We have to find solutions and stop thinking too much.

"We have to give everything on Friday night."

One of the players Bourges will be counting on is Great Britain international Jo Leedham.

She went on Twitter to comment about Friday's game.

The 1.80m guard said: "Not a fan of adidas but they were right when they said "impossible is nothing" game 2 vs Krakow friday @ 6.. do or die #teambourgesbasket.

Any team with Olympic star Celine Dumerc is going to be tough to eliminate, and Bourges desperately need a big performance from her.

Dumerc, who led France to the silver medal at the London Games, had 11 points, six assists and four rebounds in the opener.

No guard played as well as Wisla's Polish international, Paulina Pawlak.

Averaging 4.2 points, 2.8 assists and 1.8 rebounds this season, the 1.70m playmaker had 14, five and six against Bourges.
