FIBA - SportingPulse releases new mobile LiveStats technology

MELBOURNE (SportingPulse) - Technology and digital media solutions company, SportingPulse on Thursday released a new mobile friendly version of the highly successful LiveStats tool FIBA provides to federations and leagues for free.

With fans increasingly using mobile devices to access sports news and information, SportingPulse  has created a responsive design that optimises the LiveStats for the increasingly wide range of devices available on the market.

Additional new features mean fans can also share results on Facebook and Twitter further boosting community engagement.

Nick Maywald, CEO of SportingPulse, said: “The LiveStats tool means fans can have a fully integrated experience, watching a game on TV while following player statistics in real-time seamlessly, either online, on mobile or via tablet devices.”

The LiveStats tool, which has undergone thorough testing in Australia's NBL and WNBL leagues, is used by officials courtside to track team and player statistics during basketball games from the grassroots to elite level.

Patrick Baumann, FIBA Secretary General and IOC Member said: “The partnership we have with SportingPulse provides us with an innovative and cost-effective way to connect our fans to the game they love.”

Four years ago, as part of its approach to help national member federations deal with new technology to manage membership and competitions, FIBA joined forces with SportingPulse to create technological solutions to enhance the game experience.

The mobile webcast is available in 15 different languages – including English, French, Spanish, Chinese and Arabic – and is used extensively in 75 countries including France, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Argentina as well as throughout South East Asia.

Last year, 1.2 million unique browsers followed a game with the LiveStats, which have been used for all FIBA's youth World Championships since 2009.
