ESP - Borchardt lands third MVP award

GRANADA (ACB) - Curtis Borchardt’s annus mirabilis in the ACB continued this week when he was named MVP of the month for the third successive time.

The CB Granada center has now won three of the four awards this season, only missing out in October when Pamesa Valencia’s Dejan Milojevic took the accolade.

Borchardt, who averages 17 points and 11 rebounds from his 19 ACB appearances during the current campaign, also won the MVP of the month in April last season having joined CB Granada in December 2005.

Despite Borchardt’s fine form, CB Granada are still struggling down in 12th place in the ACB standings with an 8-11 record - something the 26-year-old American admits is more important to him than any individual honours.

"It (the award) is not something simple and without doubt it causes me to feel satisfied with my work, but as I always say the important things are the victories, and this month we have only won one game," said Borchardt on the ACB website.
