3x3 - Split takes it all the way!
MADRID (FIBA 3x3 World Tour) - After Madrid, Miami is the next stop on the route to 3x3 basketball heaven for Vilnius, who only succumbed to Split in the semi-finals but came to the Spanish capital with an already guaranteed ticket to Florida; Ljubljana, who ended up losing to the ever so dominant team from Split, Croatia, who not only reserved their spots for Miami, but also took home the crown and the prize money of 12'000 US Dollars.
These three teams will face fierce competition when they battle the champs of champs in the Sunshine State later in this month.
But those hard fought battles were not the only crowd-pleasers at packed "Las Ventas". There were also killer shots that were displayed at the Samsung Shootout Contest. In this contest, it was Stanislav Votroubek from Prague who dished out a whopping 9 shots from beyond the arc in only 43 seconds, leaving behind all the competition!
Another highlight of the day was the dunk contest. Emil Olszewski, jumped over praying cheerleaders, fences and even a car to secure himself the check of 2'000 US Dollars. He surely does need the money, as with his profession, no insurance company might be willing to provide him with a life insurance!
