3x3 - Neuquen book first place in Miami World Tour Final

SAO PAULO (3x3 World Tour) - The Argentinian team of Neuquen, from the city by the same name, are the first team to book a place in the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Final in Miami, USA following their victory at the Sao Paulo stop of the World Tour Sunday.

Boasting a perfect 8-0 win/loss record, Luciano Aimar, Carlos Cesar, Mario David and Bruno Haroldo overcame fellow countrymen Santiago del Estero 21-10 in the Final, making the most of their superior size and experience.

In spite of an average age of 35 - among the oldest in the tournament - Neuquen managed to mirror the energy levels of their much younger opponents (average age 22). They completely dominated the paint, forced both turnovers and risky perimeter shooting and reached the magical 21-points to pocket the 12,000$ cheque along with their qualification for Miami.

Mario David from Santiago del Estero made up for the disappointment of defeat in the Final to win the Samsung Shootout Contest, while Caracas' Deivi Añangueren won the Dunk Contest thanks to a sumptuous long-range dunk over advertising boards.

On Saturday, the FIBA 3x3 World Tour moves on to Russian city of Vladivostok, where 15 of the best 3x3 teams from Asia-Pacific do-battle, with both finalist receiving berths for Miami.
