COLONIE -Telling about 300 Siena men's basketball supporters, "I love you all from the bottom of my heart," senior Antoine Jordan bid farewell to fans, coaches and teammates Monday at the program's annual banquet.

The team, in turn, said goodbye to Jordan by presenting him with the Doc Marcelle Most Valuable Player Award.

Jordan, the Saints' only senior this past season, helped Siena to a 15-13 record by averaging 17.1 points, 8.1 rebounds and three assists. A marketing and management major, he plans to graduate in December and pursue a career in professional basketball, most likely in Europe.

"Antoine Jordan was the best example of how to conduct your life on and off the court that any coach could ever ask for," coach Fran McCaffery told the gathering of supporters at the Marriott on Wolf Road.

"Not one time did I feel like we were out of a game this year. When we were in a tight game -- and we were in quite a few -- I felt like Antoine Jordan would make a play. And he almost always did."

Jordan, who was one of the most versatile players in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, finished high on Siena's all-time lists in points (20th), rebounds (fifth) and assists (11th). This past season, he shot 47 percent from the field and 45 percent from 3-point range.

He won one of five awards given to players Monday.

Sophomore Kojo Mensah, a 6-foot-1 point guard, won the Billy Harrell Rebounder Award. He ranked second on the Saints with 6.3 rebounds per game and led Siena in offensive rebounds with 87. McCaffery called him, "one of the best offensive rebounders I've ever coached."

Kenny Hasbrouck, the MAAC's Rookie of the Year, took the Dan Cunha Best Defensive Player Award. Hasbrouck also averaged 12.4 points and 4.3 rebounds.

The Jim Sullivan Most Improved Player Award went to sophomore Tay Fisher, who bettered his point production by six from the previous season. Fisher, who averaged 11 points, led Siena with 76 3-pointers.

Junior David Ryan won the Rev. Benjamin Kuhn Student-Athlete Award. Ryan carries a 3.0 grade-point average in psychology, his major, and earned a 3.8 last semester.
