USA set a new record winning streak

SYDNEY (Australia) - Just 24 hours after setting an All-Time FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup scoring record, USA hit the the court for another milestone as they extended their winning streak to 27 games.

 That is the longest run of games in USA's rich history in the competition and came when they moved to 5-0 on the last day of the Group phase with a powerful 121-59 success against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The 27 game streak is also the second longest in FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup history, only bettered by the Soviet Union who posted 56 consecutive victories.

It was a big team performance from the champions, with Kelsey Plum leading the way and contributing 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists.
