The Draw for the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2022 takes place on Thursday, March 3, 2022 in Sydney, Australia at 19:00 local time (9:00 AM CET).

During the ceremony, the 12 participating teams - hosts Australia, Olympic champions USA and 10 national sides that booked their places through the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup Qualifying Tournaments - will be drawn into the two groups making up the Group Phase.

Following FIBA’s decision on Russian teams, the Draw will feature a team “To Be Determined (TBD)”, which will be drawn without geographical restriction. The Central Board will determine in due course the team from the Washington/Santo Domingo Qualifying Tournament that will participate in the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2022.

Update as of 19/05/2022: Following the decision made by FIBA Central Board, the replacement team is Puerto Rico, as decided last March given the circumstances surrounding the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2022 Qualifying Tournament in Washington D.C.
