Scenarios: Who will claim the final spots on Gameday 6?

MUNICH (Germany) - The race to the Second Round of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 European Qualifiers continues on Gameday 6.

The top three teams in each group will advance to the Second Round, where they will battle it out for the 12 tickets reserved for European teams at Qatar 2027.

Group A

Sunday, July 5 Denmark vs Ukraine - 16:00 CET (Previous meeting: Ukraine won 88-71) Georgia vs Spain - 18:30 CET (Previous meeting: Spain won 90-61)

How can teams qualify?

• Spain have already qualified for the Second Round;

• Ukraine have already qualified for the Second Round;

• Georgia have already qualified for the Second Round;

• Denmark have been eliminated;

  • They will enter the FIBA EuroBasket 2029 Pre-Qualifiers Second Round.

Group B

Sunday, July 5 Greece vs Portugal - 19:30 CET (Previous meeting: Greece won 76-68) Montenegro vs Romania - 21:30 CET (Previous meeting: Montenegro won 80-75)

How can teams qualify?

• Greece would qualify for the Second Round with a win OR if Montenegro beat Romania;

  • They would qualify with loss of 1-71 points;

• Montenegro would qualify for the Second Round with a win OR if Greece beat Portugal;

  • They would also qualify with a loss of 1-6 points;

• Portugal would qualify for the Second Round with a win;

  • They would also qualify with a loss IF Montenegro beat Romania;

• Romania would qualify for the Second Round with a win of 7 points or more;

  • They would also qualify with any margin of win IF Greece beat Portugal.

If Portugal beat Greece and Romania beat Montenegro, the group would be decided in a four-way tie in accordance to the Official Basketball Rules.

Group C

Monday, July 6 Türkiye vs Switzerland - 19:00 CET (Previous meeting: Türkiye won 85-60) Serbia vs Bosnia and Herzegovina - 21:00 CET (Previous meeting: Serbia won 74-72)

• Türkiye have already qualified for the Second Round;

• Serbia have already qualified for the Second Round;

• Bosnia and Herzegovina have already qualified for the Second Round;

• Switzerland have already been eliminated from contention to qualify;

  • They will play in the FIBA EuroBasket 2029 Pre-Qualifiers Second Round.

Sunday, July 5 Great Britain vs Iceland - 17:00 CET (Previous meeting: Great Britain won 90-84) Italy vs Lithuania - 21:00 CET (Previous meeting: Italy won 82-81)

• Latvia would qualify for the Second Round with a win OR with a loss of 1-18 points;

  • They would also qualify with a loss of 19 points IF Poland beat Netherlands;

• Austria would qualify for the Second Round with a win of 20 points or more;

  • They would also qualify with a win of 19 points IF Netherlands beat Poland.

How can teams qualify?

• Estonia would qualify for the Second Round with a win OR if Slovenia beat Sweden;

  • They would also qualify with a loss of 1-29 points;

• Slovenia would qualify for the Second Round with a win OR if Estonia beat Czechia;

  • They would also qualify with a loss of 1-22 points;

• Czechia would qualify with a win of 30 points or more OR if Slovenia beat Sweden;

• Sweden would qualify with a win of 17 points or more;

  • They would also qualify with any margin of win IF Estonia beat Czechia.

If Czechia beat Estonia and Sweden beat Slovenia, the group would be decided in a four-way tie in accordance to the Official Basketball Rules.
