ACCREDITATION 

All media representatives, both local and international, wishing to attend the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 must apply directly via the FIBA Media Portal.  

The application period will open on 8 May 2023 and close on 31 July 2023

Only professional members of the media that have fully completed and submitted their accreditation request online within the deadline will be taken into consideration.   

The submission of a media accreditation request will be possible only after registration in the FIBA Media Portal. Should you already have an account, please use your email address and password to sign-in and select your event. A step-by-step guide on how to apply for an accreditation can be found here. 

DECISIONS 

FIBA is ultimately responsible for the delivery of the accreditation decisions and distribution of badges for the event. 

Media credentials will be awarded based on the professional history of the applying media at FIBA and basketball events, the relevance of the media outlet represented to the event and basketball in general, as well as space availability in the venues. 

Media accreditation decisions for the Group Phase will be communicated via email no later than Friday 4 August 2023 to each individual media who applied for the event.

Media accreditation decisions for the Final Phase will be communicated at a later stage and will depend on teams reaching the Final stage and seat availability in the Final Phase venue.

DO YOU NEED A VISA FOR PHILIPPINES, JAPAN OR INDONESIA? 

A visa is an official document that allows the bearer to legally enter a foreign country.  

All members of the media that require a visa to enter Indonesia, Japan and/or the Philippines are responsible to apply themselves in their diplomatic mission/embassy in their respective country of residence.

VISA INVITATION LETTER 

A visa invitation letter will be provided to the approved media representatives, only if requested via the FIBA Media Portal and only if all required mandatory information is provided and accurate. 

Under no circumstances the invitation letter received will constitute a visa itself. 

 The information provided may undergo police-screening and various reviews. If and when approved for the event, media representatives will receive an invitation letter from the Local Organizing Committee of the event in PDF. They will then be able to print it and join it to their application for a visa. This letter will facilitate the procedure when applying for a visa. 

OFFICIAL MEDIA HOTELS 

An Official Media Hotel is available in each one of the 3 host cities of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023. Preferential rates in these facilities are guaranteed only for accredited media. 

Additional services such as transportation to the venue, free of charge internet service and a help desk will be provided in all Official Media Hotels. 

Media employees will be able to select their media accommodation in one or more of these hotels directly during their media accreditation application in the FIBA Media Portal.
