ESBVA-LM land last available spot in EuroLeague Women Regular Season
VILLENEUVE (EuroLeague Women) - ESBVA-LM have advanced to the EuroLeague Women Regular season after shutting out potential first-timers KSZ Szekszard 77-61.
The French side were trailing by three points from the opening leg on the road, but used their home-court advantage to deny their Hungarian opponents a historic first ever Regular Season place.
After a fairly even first half, ESBVA-LM put their foot on the accelerator during the third period and snapped the game open with some super work at both ends of the floor.
The renowned defense of head coach Fred Dusart was in evidence as they locked down Szekszard and outscored them 23-10. Once up 61-49 heading into the last quarter, they were always in control and coasted to a win.
Magali Mendy was outstanding for ESBVA-LM with an all-action 21 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals.
KSC Szekszard will now compete in EuroCup Women.
