Iceland are through to the Semi-Finals

    Four teams are still standing with dreams of reaching the Division A.

    BRATISLAVA (Slovakia) - Iceland and Ukraine both reached the Semi-Finals of the FIBA U20 EuroBasket 2026, Division B one summer after being relegated from Division A and were joined by fellow winners Sweden and Portugal.

    Ukraine survive tough fight over history-minded Ireland

    Ukraine 72-62 Ireland

    Ukraine needed a real fight to get through the Quarter-Finals as they overcame an Ireland team looking to make history. Ireland were leading going into the fourth quarter but Ukraine took the final frame 29-15 to advance - and stay on target to get back to the top flight with a 72-62 victory.

    Ukraine's stars stepped up when it mattered most as Maksym Hryshchuk had 13 of his 28 points in the fourth quarter and Yehor Sushkin scored 9 of his 23 points in the last 10 minutes. Ukraine will now face Portugal in the Semi-Finals.

    Harry Scully tallied 13 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists for Ireland, who reached the Quarter-Finals for the second straight summer and still can improve on their best finish of seventh last year.

    Iceland battle by Bulgaria to reach Semis

    Bulgaria 76-79 Iceland

    Iceland for their part prevailed in a tough battle with Bulgaria to reach the last four with a 79-76 victory to set up a showdown with Sweden.

    Kristofer Bjorgvinsson hit the go-ahead layup with 94 seconds left and final two free throws with 20 seconds remaining. He finished with 22 points and Lars Bragason scored 27 points for Iceland, who wasted a 14-point lead in the first quarter.

    Sweden stay perfect in getting past Luxembourg

    Nathan Amoran made his two three-pointers count

    Sweden remained perfect in the tournament and booked their spot in the Semi-Finals by getting past Luxembourg 71-62 thanks to a 19-3 start to the second half.

    Nathan Amoran drained two triples in the big run and scored 12 points with 9 rebounds to lead Sweden, who hope to return to Division A for the first time since 2018.

    Portugal use big run to knock off Hungary

    Portugal 62-51 Hungary

    Portugal were the final team to move into the Semi-Finals after a 62-51 victory over Hungary. They are now one win from returning to Division A for the first time since 2022 after capturing the Division B crown in 2019.

    Portugal took control of the game with a 15-0 run spanning 7 minutes of the third and fourth quarters for a 55-45 lead with 4 minutes to play. Jhonathan Andrade led the way with 16 points and 9 rebounds and Apolo Caetano added 12 points and 6 steals in the win.
