GEVGELIJA & SKOPJE (North Macedonia) - With places in next year’s FIBA U16 EuroBasket on the line, teams competing in Division B will battle for promotion and a chance to join Europe’s elite at the next tournament.
The competition will once again be hosted in North Macedonia, with the teams battling in Gevgelija & Skopje from August 6–15.
Who is participating?
A total of 22 teams will compete for the Division B crown. They have been split into four groups, with two groups of five and two groups of six.
The Group Phase is as follows:
Group A: Slovakia, Ireland, Portugal, Montenegro, Netherlands Group B: North Macedonia, Ukraine, Switzerland, Croatia, Iceland, Cyprus Group C: Sweden, Norway, Bulgaria, Finland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Luxembourg Group D: Denmark, Austria, Hungary, Estonia, Great Britain
What is the schedule?
The Group Phase will take place over the first five days of the tournament, with a rest day on August 9. After a second rest day on August 12, the Classification Round tips off on August 13. The competition bracket will begin with the Quarter-Finals and end with the Final on August 15.
The classification games will also determine each of the 22 positions.

Who were the winners in 2025?
Poland captured the FIBA U16 EuroBasket, Division B title with a thrilling 68-67 win over Belgium in the Final.
Clutch free throws from Szymon Lata with 1.7 seconds remaining sealed the title for Poland. Aaron Ona Embo had a chance at glory for Belgium, who had led for the majority of the first half, but his effort missed its mark.
Antoni Majcherek led the victors with 17 points and 6 assists.
With both Finalists securing promotion, one ticket remained, which eventually fell to Czechia, who bested Portugal 85-67 in the Third-Place Game.
Former MVPs
Despite not winning the FIBA U16 EuroBasket, Division B title, Belgium's Aaron Ona Embo found consolation, as he won MVP honors.
The skilled point guard led the tournament with 24.5 points and 5.3 assists, helping his nation secure promotion to Division A next year. He played all 40 minutes in the Final, collecting 14 points in a valiant effort.

Roll of honor
Poland joined Germany as the only teams to have won the Division B title three times. Czechia are just behind on two titles, and three medals overall.
