Argentina set the tone early
Argentina came out firing and gave the Dominican Republic little room to breathe, rolling to a commanding 86-51 victory in the first Quarter-Final matchup. With this win, the team advanced to the Semi-Finals and secured a berth in the FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup 2027. The South Americans opened the game with a 24-3 run and never looked back. They extended their advantage in every quarter, fueled by crisp ball movement that consistently created open scoring opportunities.
Sofía Lombardero led Argentina’s offense with 25 points, knocking down 6-of-9 from three-point range while also dishing out 3 assists. Isabella Roldán recorded a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds, while Sol Lemesoff added 10 points on a perfect 5-of-5 shooting performance from the field. Sofía Novoa handed out 8 assists.
For the Dominican Republic, Nathaly Santana and Natalia Valdez were the top performers with 14 and 11 points, respectively.
Venezuela qualify for first FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup
Albanys Ramírez, Astrid Inojosa, and Mezharith Beleño combined for 61 points and recorded double-doubles to lead Venezuela to an 80-69 victory over Mexico in the Quarter-Finals. The win sent Venezuela to the Semi-Finals and secured the country's first-ever qualification for the FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup 2027.
Venezuela took control early and steadily built a comfortable lead that grew to as many as 24 points during the first three quarters. That cushion proved enough to withstand Mexico's late rally in the final period.
Ramírez narrowly missed a triple-double, finishing with 21 points, 11 rebounds, and 8 assists. Inojosa also scored 21 points while adding 10 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. Beleño contributed 19 points and 12 rebounds.
For Mexico, Jimena Velázquez led the way with 19 points and 9 assists, while Yania Valverde added 15 points and 7 rebounds.
