YEREVAN (Armenia) - Rolands Sulcs of Latvia was crowned Most Valuable Player at the FIBA U20 EuroBasket 2025, Division B for another reason to celebrate after leading his team to the title and promotion in Yerevan.
Sulcs also headlines the tournament's All-Star Five in which he is joined by his teammate Janis Jinemanis, Niko Sare of Croatia, Türkiye's Emre Melih Tunca and Luca Soroa Schallef from Switzerland.
MVP: Rolands Sulcs - Latvia
What a tournament it was for Rolands Sulcs. Latvia's top man picked up MVP honors by leading his team to the title, averaging 14.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game. He proved to be most consistent by going into the double-digits territory in points in every game. He picked the pace up in the final four, averaging 19 points in the last two games that saw Latvia earn promotion before the title.
Janis Jinemanis - Latvia
The MVP had a major helping hand in Latvia's big man Jinemanis who flerted with a double-double average of 9.9 points and 8.3 rebounds, placing in the top 10 in the rebounding department. He also tallied 1.7 assists and 1.1 blocked shots. He was at his best when most needed with a big double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds in the Final against Croatia.
Niko Sare - Croatia
Croatia's floor general led his team to the return to Division A and was team's leader in efficiency - averaging 14.1. He was in double digits in points in every game but the Final and put up 11.3 points, 5 reboudns and 4.1 dimes per game, also leading his team in assisting. A Quarter-Finals performance against Ireland with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists pulled Croatia closer to the dream of promotion.
Emre Melih Tunca - Türkiye
Being tournament's second scorer, Tunca averaged 17.7 points per game in Türkiye's campaign back to the Division A. The point guard also placed fifth in assists with 5.7 on average and grabbed 4 rebounds per game. In Quarter-Finals against Netherlands he even flirted with a triple-double with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 11 assists.
Luca Soroa Schaller - Switzerland
If Switzerland had managed to punch their Division A ticket this summer, it would be because of Schaller who placed in the team's top 3 in all of scoring, assisting and rebounding. With 17.1 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists on average he was the tournament's fifth scorer and 12th in rebounding. No promotion for Switzerland in the end, but a very nice showing for Schaller.
