Al Janoub Arena
Capacity: 8,200 seats
The stadium is in the city of Al Wakra, it was designed by the late architect Zaha Hadid and inaugurated in 2019. Currently the venue has a capacity of 44,325 seats but for 2027 the roof will close, and the total capacity will come down to 8,200 seats.
Al Janoub, which in Arabic translates as “the south”, hosted seven matches during the men’s football World Cup in 2022. It will be the first time that a basketball game will be played in a football stadium in FIBA World Cup history.
