MIAMI (United States) – The first day of action in Window 1 of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Americas Qualifiers has wrapped up. The opening four games delivered several notable individual performances, and it’s time to take a look at who the top players of the day were.

Luciano Parodi and the Uruguay national team stormed into Panama City and claimed a convincing win. The point guard led a well-balanced sky-blue offense in which all 12 players scored, finishing with 26 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for an efficiency rating of 28.
Argentina also earned a double-digit road victory in Cuba, with Facundo Campazzo and Gabriel Deck shining. Stepping into the spotlight were center Francisco Cáffaro, who posted an 18-point, 10-rebound double-double, and guard Gonzalo Corbalán, who added 19 points and 8 boards. Cáffaro tallied an efficiency rating of 26, while Corbalán registered 21.
Jaime Echenique imposed his physical presence inside and, in just 22 minutes, was the most productive player in Colombia’s home win over Venezuela. The center knocked down 7 of 11 shots for 17 points, grabbed 7 rebounds, and added 2 steals and a block.
In Chile’s loss to Brazil, Felipe Haase did everything within his reach to avoid the setback against one of the continent’s powerhouses, but it wasn’t enough. The 27-year-old stood out with a 17-point, 10-rebound double-double, plus 2 steals and a block for an efficiency rating of 22.
