Box-office matchup lights up Valencia; Bussiere as cold as ice

Valencia stepped out for their first ever EuroLeague Women game at the newly opened Roig Arena and while the contest with Fenerbahce was a pulsating classic, they couldn't dig out a win as they went down 75-72 in overtime.

Down by 13 points in the early stages. Fenerbahce came roaring back and it was Bec Allen who effectively sealed the deal with a dagger three against her old club. Iliana Rupert netted a super double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds, while Monique Billings shone with 20 points. Leticia Romero handed out 12 assists for the losing side.

Louise Bussiere hit one of the biggest shots of her career as she drained a game-winning triple with 6 seconds left to hand Landes a memorable 70-69 success at Mersin.

In a roller-coaster ride, it had looked like 20-point Laura Juskaite had won the contest for the hosts with an 'and-1' play down the stretch, but Bussiere had other ideas.

Umana Reyer Venezia are celebrated an 84-80 win at Casademont Zaragoza to stay perfect and continue their great start. It was a compelling edge of the seat clash, with Joyner Holmes a difference-maker. She stepped off court with 24 points and 9 boards, while frontcourt partner Steph Mavunga added a pivotal 18 points.

Eleanna Christinaki was the inspiration for Olympiacos as they eased out DVTK 69-57 in Piraeus to get off the mark and end a 10 game losing streak in the competition.

The Greek national team winger dropped a game high 22 points for her team as they claimed a first win in the competition since January 2023.

Beretta Famila Schio bounced back from Week 1 disappointment to sail past Sopron Basket 82-65 with a smart 16-point show from Marieme Badiane pacing the triumph. The loss was tough on Slovenian ace Zaal Friskovec who poured in 23 points in defeat and completed a double-double with 10 boards.

Tango Bourges Basket are also up and running after a 72-57 road success at VBW Gdynia. Tima Pouye provided the main source of joy for the visitors as she finished with an all-action 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists.

Girona hammer the holders; Galatasaray hold their nerve

There were celebrations in the Czech capital for visiting Spar Girona as they posted a stunning 75-60 victory against ZVVZ USK Praha. They jumped past the 2025 winners and hosts off the back of a blistering second quarter which they dominated 26-12, led by a hot spell from Laeticia Amihere who finished with 14 points and 8 boards.

Girona also prospered from Klara Holm adding 15 points. Praha had no answer to the transition game of Girona who ran them off the floor at times, with Pauline Astier the main bright spot with a game-high 17 points.

Meanwhile, Flammes Carolo Basket looked on course for a shock win over Galatasaray, only for the Turkish giants to squeeze out a 62-56 triumph.

In a defensively-dominated encounter, the visitors used their experience to complete the job, with only Kamiah Smalls and Elizabeth Williams reaching double-digits with 10 points each. Coline Franchelin caught the eye for Carolo with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists.
