Clark dazzles for Israel to take home Top Performer honors

TEL AVIV (FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2019 Qualifiers) – The fans in Tel Aviv were in for a basketball treat on Saturday night when the home team opened the second window of the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2019 Qualifiers with a nail-biting 65-63 win over Greece.

Israel handed Greece their first loss of the campaign to tie with them on a 2-1 mark, with one player in particular bringing the fire and desire from start to finish. Forward Alysha Clark was unstoppable, filling the boxscore with an outlandish 27 points, 16 rebounds, 6 assists, 4 steals and 2 blocks for an efficiency of 41, the highest of Gameday 3.

Filling the second forward spot with an equally impressive performance is Bosnia and Herzegovina's Marica Gajic, as she ended her day at the office with an efficiency rating of 40 after posting 31 points, 16 rebounds and 2 blocks. Bosnia and Herzegovina made light work of visiting Iceland, 97-67, to move to 2-1 in the Group A standings.

Iceland are still to tick the win column, but could find a positive in the 32-point, 6-rebound, 5-assist showing by veteran guard Helena Sverrisdottir. Her efficiency of 34 earned her a small consolation prize in the shape of a spot on the Top Performer lineup.

Joining her in the backcourt is Croatia's Antonija Sandric, who led her side to a comfortable 108-47 win on the road against the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. The 29-year-old led all scorers with 22 points and added a game-high 8 assists for an efficiency ranking of 25.

Rounding out the team of the day is Lithuanian center Gintare Petronyte after the Baltic side cruised past Albania, 119-61. With six Lithuanian players finishing in double figures, it was Petronyte's stat line to stand out the most, with her double-double of 24 points and 11 rebounds in just under 22 minutes of playing time, accumulating in an efficiency of 37.
