Session tickets, last type of passes for Women's World Cup, go on sale

MIES/TENERIFE (FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2018) - The third and final wave of tickets for the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2018 in Tenerife went on sale on Monday, with fans around the world now having the opportunity to buy 'session' tickets.

Following the hugely successful first two waves - which saw the release of 'venue' and 'day' tickets - fans now have the chance to buy session tickets for the 16-team event, which takes place from September 22-30 in Tenerife, the biggest of Spain's Canary Islands.

Available across both the Group Phase and Final Phase, session tickets provide access to one particular session on a chosen day and range in price from €5 to €50. For Semi-Finals and Finals, the sessions include four games each.

"As the host of the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2018, the Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB) is very proud of the fantastic results of ticketing sales in all categories," said FEB President Jorge Garbajosa.

"We are confident that this trend will also continue in the third wave of sales, proving one more time the success of the ticketing strategy of FEB and the local authorities to offer affordable prices to all fans.

"Our goal was to support all 16 teams with a passionate crowd in the arenas and the Tenerife locals and each and every fan who bought a ticket are a guarantee of this. When the competition tips off, full stands will prove that this World Cup is a success for all."

FIBA Secretary General and International Olympic Committee (IOC) Member Patrick Baumann congratulated FEB and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for their success in selling as many tickets as they have and ensuring a great atmosphere at both venues throughout the competition.

"The Spanish federation and the LOC have done a great job with ticket sales for the Women's World Cup. On FIBA's behalf, I wish to express our gratitude and appreciation for all of their work. It's tremendous news that players and teams can look forward to playing in front of thousands of passionate spectators."
