Nurse making a WNBA splash is a big plus for Canada
NEW YORK (FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup) - Kia Nurse has nothing to prove in a Canada vest, but could be about to take her role to a new level after showing her potential with a blistering WNBA debut.
When the curtain was raised last weekend on the new WNBA season, the debut performance of the rookie was one of the major talking points.
Impressive opening half of @KayNurse11's #WNBA career!

The guard posted a memorable first Regular Season outing for the New York Liberty after coming up with 17 points, 3 assists and a couple of steals against Chicago Sky.
Canada national team play-caller, Lisa Thomaidis was one of the first to heap public praise on the UConn graduate.

She was no doubt keen for Nurse to soak up that added WNBA experience prior to the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup. Certainly being able to make the leap from College ball into the hard-nosed world of the pro-game can only help Nurse soar to new heights.
Tenerife offers Canada a chance to push for a potential podium finish and if they do post a productive campaign, you can expect Nurse to be at the very heart of it.
