Dupree drops game-winner, Praha own Fenerbahce and home comfort for Russian duo

MUNICH (Germany) - There was high drama in Sopron during the first gameday of the Quarter-Finals as Candice Dupree hit a game-winner to take the hosts past Bourges Basket.

In a highly entertaining roller-coaster which had seen Marine Johannes light it up for the French visitors with 24 points, it came down to the wire.

And, it was Dupree who scored what proved to be the winning bucket with just 4 seconds remaining to wrap up a nail-biting and precious 66-65 success. The forward capped her team's standout performance by taking her tally to 16 points, while also garnering 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Yvonne Turner top-scored for her team with 22 points.

ZVVZ USK Praha erupted against Fenerbahce as they stormed their way to a vibrant 76-54 success against their opponents who had only just won the Turkish Cup.

The Czech side were paced by Katerina Elhotova who scored 15 points, while Alyssa Thomas was her usual all-action self with 14 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists.

Meanwhile there were comfortable wins for both UMMC Ekaterinburg and Dynamo Kursk, who each finished the Regular Season with 13-1 records.

Maria Vadeeva was unstoppable for UMMC as she netted 23 points and completed a double-double by snapping up 10 rebounds in a 78-45 demolition of TTT Riga.

"It was a good game," mused Vadeeva after the final buzzer had sounded.

"We worked well in defense, acted well in offense and moved the ball. We wanted to be better and score about 90 points.

"We did a good job and now look forward to what is going to happen in Riga. We will get ready and be ready," she added.
