How import players are impacting FIBA Africa Women's Champions Cup 2018

MAPUTO (FIBA Africa Women's Champions Cup 2018) - Three days into the continental competition and so many sparks have already gone off on and off the court and all of this has got the Mozambican crowd in sixes and sevens.

 1. JASMINE NWAJIE (FIRST BANK)

With an average of 14.5 points per game,  First Bank point guard Nwajie is lighting up the tournament with her crisp-clear passes, her effectiveness leading the 'Elephant Girls' back court.

The year 23-year-old has dropped six from behind the arc from 12 attempts and has made seven assists in three games played for the Nigerian outfit chasing a third African title. She is smooth with the ball and a beauty to watch - even literally!

2. CIERRA ROBERTSON-WARREN (FERROVIARIO DE MAPUTO)

As a newbie to a side that is playing in front of an emotional crowd, she has soaked in the pressure and delivered on the boards and in the paint even on defense tirelessly running back to protect her space and all of this while wearing a wide smile and going on with her business like this is not her first time playing in Africa.

And after the serious business has been done on court, this is what Cierra is up to on court with Carmen Virginia Tyson-Thomas; the American connection!

 3. ALEXANDRA GREEN (FAP)

On a day that FAP recorded their first victory at the tournament, Green will be patting herself on the back knowing that she played a very big role in achieving this and improving the win ratio to 1-2.

4. AMANDA THOMPSON (INTERCLUBE)

Traversing the planet playing for 11 teams in the past eight countries and recently doing so in Romania, Thompson has seen it all. However, the short experience she has had playing at this tournament has seen her appreciate the physical side of the African game.

With a 13.5 efficiency, the 31-year old is averaging 6.5 rebounds and six points for five-time African record champions InterClube from Angola but really her physical presence on defense gives her side an edge like no one else. Look at this block!

5. SURIYA MCGUIRE(InterClube)

Getting off the ground and into mid-air is not for the faint-hearted but for McGuire, she quite really looks like she does this effortlessly. Did we say anything about the colour of her hair? Ah, never mind!

Foreign players bring a unique feel to the tournament and for that, we salute them!
