    There was joy for the duo on Gameday 4 of the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2025 Qualifiers.

    MUNICH (Germany) - The co-hosts of FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2025 have now been joined by Türkiye and Sweden for next year's blockbuster event after both nation's wrapped up their spots on a Sunday to remember.

    Türkiye swept aside Slovakia with ease, but there was a nail-biting thriller for Sweden who only just edged out Great Britain for a second time in the Qualifiers.

    Türkiye celebrate making the big show after McCowan cleans up

    Teaira McCowan conjured up more magic for Türkiye as they sealed the deal to book their spot by shutting out Slovakia 65-50.

    The center put in a typically powerful effort and finished with a sensational 24 points and 13 rebounds which pushed Türkiye to 4-0 and into the Final Round.

    Sweden punch Final Round ticket in Malmo

    Sweden officially became the first team to punch a ticket to the Final Round, topping Great Britain 63-60 and getting a favorable result in the other Group D fixture on Sunday.

    Sitting atop the standings, the Swedes did the heavy lifting with four consecutive wins, but it was Estonia’s win over Denmark that sealed the deal.

    Sweden ace Frida Eldebrink paced the victors with a team-high 19 points, while Klara Lundquist chipped in with a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds.

    Cats survive to avoid a dreaded double defeat by Poland

    Reigning FIBA Women's EuroBasket champions Belgium are breathing a sigh of relief after scraping past Poland 80-77 in a pulsating contest. The Cats were pushed hard by their opponents, who were looking to complete a win double, having shocked the holders in the very first game of the Qualifiers.

    Typically it was Emma Messeman who dug Belgium out of a hole to get them over the line. Their marquee baller dropped a massive 29 points and added 8 rebounds and 4 assists.

    Unstoppable Simms posts triple-double

    Jennie Simms set the tone for Israel's dominant performance over Ireland in Group E with an impressive triple-double, fueling a decisive 90-61 victory. Simms scored 21 points on an efficient 9-of-16 shooting and her all-around impact was unmistakable, as she pulled down 10 rebounds and dished out 10 assists.

    With an overall efficiency rating of 31, Simms was the catalyst for Israel’s success, as her side improved to a 2-2 record to stay in the race for qualification, while Ireland dropped to 0-4.
