    Seed 1

As the group of top-seeded teams along with host Germany, these are the heavy favorites in the competition. USA are, of course, the reigning champions of the Women's World Cup and have been parading an exciting core. They went undefeated in the Qualifying Tournaments - as did France and Australia. Germany's only loss in the Qualifying Tournament was against France.

    Seed 2

Nigeria and Belgium are continental champions. Spain lost to Belgium by only two points in the Final of the Women's EuroBasket last year. China finished on the podium on home soil at the Women's Asia Cup.

The quality of the teams in this pot is still very much top-notch indeed.

    Seed 3

Women's Asia Cup runners-up Japan and Puerto Rico had dramatic runs in their Qualifying Tournaments to secure their tickets to Berlin. Italy are also hyped to back back in the Women's World Cup for the first time in 32 years, while Korea are on 18 straight appearances in the competition.

    Underestimate them at your risk.

    Seed 4

This might be the pot of the lowest seeds in the draw, but that doesn't take away how battled tested and resilient these women are.

Hungary ended a 28-year draught by qualifying to play in Berlin and they made their way all through the Pre-Qualifying Tournaments - a journey that started back in 2024. While Hungary won the Pre-Qualifying Tournament in Rwanda, Czechia won the Pre-Qualifying Tournament in Mexico.

Mali did not find success in the Pre-Qualifying Tournaments, but instead made their way through as a Finalist of the Women's AfroBasket.

They eventually claimed their spots in Berlin from the Qualifying Tournaments along with Türkiye who hosted on of the four tourneys.
