    The 16 teams preparing to step out in Berlin will soon find out their opponents.

    MIES (Switzerland) - With excitement building ahead of the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2026 Draw, the principles which will guide the process have now been confirmed.

    The FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2026 Draw will take place at Kraftwerk Berlin on April 21 at 18:00 CET and will be streamed live on the FIBA YouTube channel.

    FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2026 Draw Principles

    The 16 teams have been divided into four pots based on the FIBA World Ranking Women, presented by NIKE, with host nation Germany placed into Pot 1.

    Each pot will feed one team into each respective group with the following geographical restrictions applied:

    • There will be a maximum of 2 teams from Europe per group.

    • There will be a maximum of 1 team from Africa, Americas and Asia/Oceania per group.

    • When drawn, host nation Germany will be placed into Group A.
