ATHENS (Greece) - While Unicaja's secret for success relies on a collective effort, night in and night out, Tyson Carter was definitely the most valuable offensive source since the beginning of their second straight successful campaign in the Basketball Champions League.

Leading the Spanish team in scoring with 14 points against Galatasaray in the Championship Game, he was also named MVP of the BCL Final Four, powered by SUNEL, awarding his effort in dragging his club.

"Back-to-back BCL titles feel awesome, I can't explain it," he said to the BCL website.

Asked about what Malaga means to him, he got emotional.

"I can't explain it. I've been here for three years, and being around these guys is crazy. We're the best of friends, it's been the best experience for me. These fans came all the way here to support us."

He entered the BCL Final by averaging 12.7 points and 4.2 assists per game in the competition, from the Regular Season all the way to the Semi-Finals against AEK Betsson BC.

"That game was the loudest game I've played in, a really hostile environment. It was a test for us, and overcoming that game prepared us for the Championship."

He follows his teammate Kendrick Perry, who carried Unicaja to their first-ever Basketball Champions League title in Belgrade at the 2023-24 BCL Final Four as the MVP.

Tyson Carter started his overseas professional career in Greece, with Lavrio in the Basketball Champions League. During the 2021-22 season, he even faced Unicaja twice, averaging 20.0 points between the two games.

He finished his first BCL campaign with 17.8 points per game, fourth in the league.

"It's a full-circle moment. I started my career here in Greece, and it feels good to be able to win a Championship here," Carter commented.

Joining Unicaja in the summer of 2022, the 27-year-old guard has now won his sixth trophy with Ibon Navarro's team.

After the ACB Copa del Rey in 2023 and 2025, the ACB Supercopa in 2024, the 2024 Basketball Champions League, and the 2024 FIBA Intercontinental Cup, he grabbed another success in the BCL.

Following all these victories all over Spain, Europe, and the world, there's one goal yet to be fulfilled for Tyson Carter and the whole Unicaja squad, management, coaching staff, and fans:

    ACB.
