In exactly 100 days, Copenhagen will transform into the basketball capital of Europe as the FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup 2025 takes over the city

COPENHAGEN (Denmark) - In exactly 100 days, Copenhagen will transform into the basketball capital of Europe as the FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup 2025 takes over the city – as the main attraction of CPH Street Days, the City of Copenhagen’s brand-new street culture festival.

3x3 basketball is fast-paced, intense, and action-packed – a sport where world-class athletes compete in the spirit of street culture, with music, energy, and an atmosphere that electrifies the crowd. From September 5–7, 2025, the tournament will unfold on Ofelia Plads in central Copenhagen, where both local fans and international visitors will experience the very best 3x3 basketball has to offer.

“3x3 basketball is incredibly spectator-friendly. It’s fast, energetic, and the players are right up close to the crowd. We’re thrilled to welcome Europe to Copenhagen – not only to showcase elite basketball, but to unite the city around an urban celebration,” says Jesper Sørensen, CEO of the Danish Basketball Federation.

This marks the 10th edition of the FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup, a tournament that brings together Europe’s top national teams in both the men’s and women’s competitions. With Copenhagen as host, the event combines elite sports and international visibility in one of the world’s most iconic urban settings.

“The FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup is another example of Denmark’s ability to attract world-class sporting events. With an iconic cityscape, strong partnerships, and passionate spectators, Copenhagen is the perfect stage for this championship,” says Lars Lundov, CEO of Sport Event Denmark.

The tournament will be a cornerstone of CPH Street Days – a new initiative by the City of Copenhagen celebrating street culture with street art, music, dance, and the Panna World Championships.

“FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup 2025 gives both locals and visitors in Copenhagen a unique opportunity to take part in an international sporting event, while also showcasing our capital city to international participants and audiences. Integrating the urban space into the hosting of major sporting events is something we’ve worked on for years, and it’s become a core part of our strong international brand as an event destination,” says Søren Tegen Pedersen, CEO of Wonderful Copenhagen.

The FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup 2025 is expected to draw thousands of spectators – both on-site and via global livestreams.
